Refurbing the old Hustler BTV-4

This is the bottom section of the antenna and it had some rusted out bolts and when i tried to install the so239 connector kit the bolt for the center conductor broke off !! Well that threw a big monkey wrench into this project i had to order a whole new bottom section for the antenna because i couldn't do a new tap for the screw do to the length of the pipe . I went to DX engineering and ordered the dang section while there also ordered the tilt base unit so it will be easy to raise and lower the unit so what you see here will all brand new in a few days after doing this i will basically have a brand new Hustler BTV-4 which is a good thing with the parts i've had to order for this project i could have bought a new BTV!! Oh well live in learn but this should work great when done

Well got this antenna from a fellow ham some years ago and its been out back of my garage since then so i decided to refurb it and add 30 meters so i've added the 30 meter trap and its now capable of working 10,15,20,30,40 meters now hope to get it setup out in the backyard to replace a vertical that's there right now but has needed fixing for a long while so this will replace that one!!

TNC-X Interface Installed at WE4NC

I finally got my TNC-X kit I built installed at the digital station in kilmarnock this interface to replace an old pk232 tnc that was there this should make the station work a whole lot better and doesn't require a separate power supply. While there I changed out the computers so they can be updated to match the one I took out. now on to another ham radio project!!
